Style Tips for the “Muscular Man”

Fitness

Choose classic cut Trousers

When I hear the word “classic cut”, I am sure that it conjures up Muscular Man images like these:

As a muscular man with a stronger physique, I urge you to reconsider this.

For guys with larger thighs, finding pants that fit their bigger, more muscular man legs is a major problem. This is something I’ve had to deal with for years. I wear a 32-inch waist trouser, but my thighs are 25 inches at their thickest point.

What is my solution Muscular Man?

Simply put, I look for trousers in a classic cut style. This cut gives men more room in the thigh and seat. This usually means that the fit is baggy and sloppy for the average man. For guys with longer legs, a classic cut is more appropriate.

Do not adopt the appearance of a muscular man douchebag

Although I am 5’11” and weigh 190lbs, my body is more athletic (5’11” and 10in drop), I have found that men with larger builds dress more like Fitness Showrooms idiots than those with smaller bodies.

What does this mean?

It’s something you’ve probably seen before. As you wait to enter a bar, or club, you notice all the hipsters wearing shiny t-shirts and denim jeans. These men are not trying to be different, but they are only doing their best to blend in with the crowd.

Invest in a quality MTM suit

Over the years, I have tried to find suits off-the-rack but never had much success. To get the right fit, I would still need to spend hundreds of dollars on a tailor. Because of their unique proportions, it’s a common problem for muscular man. Men with larger muscles should opt for MTM (made to measure) suits.

Wear your bread and butter casually Muscular Man

It’s something I have said before, but it is worth repeating again here. You have the advantage of being a muscular man and can make casual wear choices (e.g. t-shirts, polos, jeans etc.) Looks even better. However, I don’t advocate a well-tailored look. It’s important to understand that men dress up to make themselves look better. A man with a larger build will not need to wear a suit every day to improve his v-taper.
